Asset Two - Paint Brush Pot

One of Six Assets to be completed for Task One in Modelling to Camera.

The Paint Brush Pot was the next asset, and this was a fair amount more challenging than the Brush. The main reason was the EP Curve Tool, a different way to create the initial object’s shape, rather than modelling a Polygon Primitive to fit the shape. The specific challenges were human error with adding more new points than necessary, and the modelling of the points and curve to form the inside space of the 3D object.

My error was consistently adding more and more points in the EP Curve without realising the curve reverted back to object mode after adding a new point; so several times I would have three or more points within a similar area. I resolved this issue by taking note of it in my book and to remember every time I used it.

The second challenging part was modelling the inside of the pot: when creating the object, I found it extremely difficult to see the object while it was shaded and blocking my perspective of the inside. I was unaware of what changes to make, and I could not guarantee an accurate shape to the image I was referencing. After some troubleshooting, I used the Wireframe mode, and that really helped me to see the points inside.

I think the asset was successful, but if I were to improve anything, it would be the points on the EP Curve which would then improve the general shape of the object. This was a very good challenge and I believe I used it quite successfully, although I could improve on it when using the EP Curve tool in the future.
