Task One:
15-Second Sequence

Sequence made in Maya with a Child's Room Environment Pack based on the prompt "Tired after a Long Day at Work."

After analysing the environment, I had several ideas on “Tired after a long day at work,” which I took to drafting on my storyboards. First was a simple path of the main entrance to bed, and using Jill Rig to make a pose of a hunched over character going along the path dropping clothes and accessories along the way.

Scenes 1 & 2 were Pans; the first established the character’s location, and the second showed the character's clothing stripped, which I created assets for using my knowledge from Assets. Scene 3 was a tracking shot following the character up the stairs: a combination of a Boom, Tracking and a Pan. I wasn’t sure how to make the sequence seem continuous and flow well, so I translated the Pivot to the pole of the staircase to rotate and translate the camera to a smoother arc of its motion path.

Scene 5 was a Zoom Out movement: from a Close Up to a Full Shot with the character laid on their bed to an alarm clock ringing. I faced an issue with this because I wanted to have the camera move in an arc, but it consistently phased through the clock to reach its ending shot and any other translation would break the cinematography and visual logic. I resolved this by scaling the alarm clock in the scene.
