I had a lot of fun with this unit. It challenged me in ways I wasn't expecting: specifically in terms of animation performance. I really enjoyed learning the elements of what makes a character feel "alive" and not robotic. I always assumed Lipsyncing and Facial Animation would be some of the most difficult work when animating; after gaining experience, I realised the process is a lot more simpler than I realised.

I had so much fun with this unit, and I think my performance animation is probably one of the best animations I've made so far which is very exciting! I did struggle a bit with my own personal energy due to the long days of learning and the amount of brain power it required, but I feel as though with time I will be able to achieve it.

Even though I am so pleased with my Performance Animation, I do think it has a bit lacking in terms of industry standard of animation. I think I would familiarise myself with the 12 principles of animation more, and also to develop my skills in applying some animation parts I may not know how to apply.

Overall, I found this unit very engaging and very interesting.

I really enjoyed rigging for a cartoon character. I think it’s really fun and might be an area I’ll explore in the future. I enjoyed...
